Default boost solenoid symptoms?

Hello all, im having some issues with my bugeye. Pretty much after a few min. Of driving the car will seem sluggish, slow to accelerate however boost gauge shows boost and at idle vacuum is at 20inhg. My first thought was bad wg actuator but it seems fine, also no shaft play with turbine. Im thinking it may be boost solenoid takin a poop but is this what the symptoms would be? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks: mike

What MAF? -Speed Density!

pull it off the car and blow air through it with your mouth while you trigger the solenoid with a 9v battery. It should make the air switch between the two outputs, if not its broken.

Check for pre-turbo exhaust leaks. if the lower uppipe bolts are loose it can cause come-and-go power loss.

Well, after a bunch of looking double checking the tightness of every bolt I've come to the conclusion that the maf is bad. I unplugged it and car ran as if there's no problem, just a little rich and a tad bit higher idle however cars sitting in the garage till I get the new maf Wich will hopefully be today. Symptoms before unplugging the maf were sputtering, jerking during acceleration, my guess is the car had no clue of what the correct a/f ratio should be because of bunged up maf. Compression test came out well all coil packs replaced spark plugs replaced...

When my EBCS went out i would get boost spikes in 3rd to 5th gear at random times.I would do a pull in 3rd and it would sputter or not reach max boost. Also i would do a 5th gear pull at 2500 RPM go WOT my boost would hit max then bounce around and not hold.I noticed this issue while trying to change lanes in 3rd gear the car would pull then stop then pull as if i was giving gas and letting off.I got a used one for 20 bucks with about 40k miles on it off of a 06.I belive the EBCS is the same just the mounting holes are flipped but the wire plug still reaches.
