Edited. I hate getting into these debates while I'm working! I was thinking, "Near 6th" and "away from 6th". Oh well.

You say that, but wait til someone bashes the shifter into nothing between 5th and 6th OVER and OVER and OVER trying to get into reverse.

I bought the Perrin silicone intake tube. I think I said I'd be willing to pay around $350 for a more/less bespoke carbon intake tube. Perhaps up to $400, but at that price point I'm pretty certain it's just expensive rare bling in my mind.

Talking to my go to guy that does a lot of our aerospace carbon work. WE just might make a short run to see how it goes. I'll have to machine a new tool out of aluminum since we just used some HDTB to do a prototype.. Possibly a carbon/kevlar sock version?

LAST part for the shifter came in after i left work to pick up the boy. Should have one installed tomorrow. WOOT!

Bad news. There's work in Alaska. Get on up here, son! We have free money, no sales tax and moose in your front yard. Cost of living is a little high, unless you don't mind commuting on the highway outside of Anchorage where it's cheaper (Eagle River, Palmer or Wasilla). Check it out!

Final prototype/ first article is in my car. its ****ing amazing!
Battery on the car was dead... FAILBOAT!

Got it fired up. its nice and short, crisp feeling. Need to do a few minor tweaks to the angle of the dangle and we'll be good to go. Few final samples are going out to those who now.

So basically, we won't be seeing Kartboy short shifters this century.

I have a hard time seeing it's justification outside of track use. We don't have a track available in Alaska except for Tanacross two days a year.

It's also why I'm not in a huge rush for big brake kits. I love how they look, but I'm not dying to lessen brake fade over the course of the day.
