Default IHI VF34, is this sound normal?

Hello

I have installed my VF34 Turbochrager on my 2004 WRX
everything was great but this sound from the Turbocharger:


Is this normal. OK, the VF34 whine but so loud?

Yep, mine sounds just like that.
You also hear it wind down after you turn the car off.

Yeah this is by far my favorite turbo.

I have a complete twinscroll setup sitting in my garage that I was going to install but I like this one so much I'm afraid I'll be disappointed with the vf37.

I'm hitting full boost at 3200 rpms.

Puuuuh ok! now i'm happy!

i thought the wheel bearing would be broken or something.
I love the sound too but i was not sure, if this is normal :S

I just might.
But this turbo is amazing, granted its on an ej207.
I ported it heavily and think that helped.
At one point on my tune we were hitting full boost at 2800 rpms, 20 psi , but had to back it down to smooth it out.

I paid $550 for this turbo because of the demand, eveyone wants one!

I have zero complaints with this setup.

Helps that I can spin to 8500 too!

i just got my first turbo scooby it is a '03 wrx with vf39 with no tune as far as i know. what boost is safe sorry to ask dumb questions but i dont know enough to be sure thanks ahead

Yeah VF34 is a great street turbo. I love how fast mine spools up and how it sounds. Now I just have to get an EWG on this thing!

Yea completely Normal haha. I have the same whine on my VF23. Gotta love that ball bearing turbo!

But can I use my stock banjo bolt from my WRX or I have to change it to a bigger one?
