Default normal sound?

Is this the normal sound, it sounds like its coming from the passenger side of the engine bay. It has been like this since the rebuild, I have been told this is how these engines sound just want to get some other opinions.

Also just got my AP and have been monitoring my a/f. At idle and when im just dding it usually sits around 14.3-14.7. Now in between shifts or if im just coasting in gear with no throttle it will be sitting at 23.x is this normal as I am a complete nub. thanks again.

Should idle at or around 14.7, thats "stoich". When coasting in gear the ecu cuts fuel, making the afr show 23.x, which is full lean. So yes to both of those, thats perfectly normal.

I didnt hear anything off in the video, but im no expert...

What pistons were used? Some companies (cosworth, wiseco) are usually quiet while mahle and cp pistons will be a bit louder. Piston slap is pretty common on built motors. If new valves were put in and the clearances weren't checked and the buckets were just thrown back in, that's a whole nother problem

Its a factory ej205, heads were warped so the machine shopped cleaned them up and put in new seals and everything else checked out fine.

Complete 4cy opposing heads valve job
Adjust lash
resurface pair of opposing heads.

nothing crazy was done.

A lot of people say its the injectors and other combining noises. I guess the heads are just loud on these engines.
