...give me a little time, I'll get there. Both these are on 91 oct CA pump gas so we still have some room to work. But not bad for round one of tuning. Thanks to Brainstorm for really dailing it in for me.

Mike,
I was talkin to a local guy whom you got the original map from. very impressive what Brainstorm was able to do with the car beyond that map.

Yeah basically tossed that map out and went for a brainstom original. The old one had a really bad power spike and then just fixxled out. This one is strong linear and so fast.

What are all the mods done to the car! I have the VF22, injectors, 3" torbo out no cats, uppipe, front mount, and an untuned unichip. I was wondering what power outputs I should be expecting when I get it tuned. I like the cuve your car has, Pulls all the way to redline

What's going on with that big drop in power right before 6500 rpm?

Isn't brainstorm a big Miata tuner? What experience do they have with WRX's? Not a flame, I live within driving distance to them and I'm looking for a good dyno tuner somewhere around San Diego.

I always see a small rise in power right around 7k rpm. Is there more after that? Is there some kind or 2nd or 3rd harmonic going on in that area with the intake or heads or something? I see it on stock and aftermarket turbo graphs. I'm just trying to figure out if my butt dyno is feeling what I'm seeing, and that, that rise in power can be used as an advantage when shifting our widely spread gears.

In response to the guys that were posting on the factory forced thread...

Brainstrom is a big miata place. The guy who tuned my car, Roshawn, owns a WRX and has been tuning for a long time. They also did earl's car, White one on the cover of Turbo last month. So They seem to have this car figured out pretty good. I have had a couple of hack tuners work on my car, lost one block that way, but I am totally satisfied with the work he did. Car is just so smooth strong and safe. No ping/knock @ all. I put a little high octane gas in ti and it just picked up even more. Would really like to get it back on the dyno w/ race gas.

The drop @ 6500 is where we hit 100% duty cycle of the injecotrs. Could step up to the bigger injectors as i believe earl did but for now race gas gives me enough.

As for the jump @ 7000 I don't know. Limiter is up @ 7500 now and it pulls through 7000 pretty strong.

Next up 1/4 mile times and try not to break the tranny.

How do you get that much power out of a VF22?

Everyone keeps telling me I'll never get over 375 at the crank with my VF22, and you're getting that at the wheels? Even with NOS, they say it is a matter of flow limitation that you can't send enough cfm of air through the VF22 to make more than 375...

That's one you'll prolly have to ask Roshan. He's gone for the weekend but will return Monday. Give him a call. He is very cool and sure he wouldn't mind answering some questions. I think it is lower boost and lots of timing but I 'm not a tuner by any means.
When I find out more I'll let you know.

From C/S ImprezaRS dot com? Is that Larry? I think I drove your car once when I used to live up there. It was running 13.4 on three cylinders right?
