Default K cams, G head

I've done some searching, but as we know you can't find everything.
Will K cams, from the v4 sti vintage, fit in a HLA G valvetrain?

I can get the cams for nothing, so this is my option before I try to find some HKS abroad.

Should I just do v4 sti heads instead?

Probably, but without the solid buckets and springs what will you really gain? You won't make it to the rpm range the cams work in without floating the valves.

v4 STi heads are way better than EJ20G / HLA heads. the valvetrain and cams are just all around better performance. I say go v3/4 STi heads and don't look back. make sure you get the right head gasket to maintain squish and compression though

Yes the EJ20K cams fit no problem in the WRX EJ20G heads with HLA. But keep revs under 7k rpm.

I thought you couldn't use k cams in hla heads because the lobes aren't cryo treated? Won't they wear excessively?
