Default The AKIC if money were not an object thread.

So Nomad recently pulled up an over the hill thread about what you would to your wrx if money were no object. Well givin all the new makes, and models of subarus, and the wide variety of performance/visual upgrades aswell as how far technology has came since then, I thought i would be pretty cool to hear from some or all fellow members of AKIC what they would do to they're subaru if money were no object. Let's do this!

If money was no object, I wouldn't own a Subaru.

If money was no object i would do what I planned on at the beginning.
300 WHP with a proper tune.
Custom suspension.
Maybe a one or two more cosmetic touches that dont include wheels.
wheels, tires and brakes.
Recaro seats.

Nothing huge or drastic.

I would trade it in on as a very small down payment on something that isn't a Subaru.

Honestly, if it were to spend money only on a Subaru... I'd most likely copy what AKFord has done.

I still remember hammering on ArmySTi's a couple times at an Auto-x, even getting FTD (for a run, lol) Yeah, if money were no object, and had to be spent on Subaru's only, I'd take a peanut/hawkeye STi and make it a track slut.

Oh, and since no Subie ... I can chose to do this since it would be my Subie.

Well let's be clear, the only reason money is an object for the majority of us currently is because we enjoy food, paying rent on time, and otherwise have bills to pay..... Because honestly spending the money we do on the parts we do is by no means practical anyways hahaha

If it's limited to the same $20k, I could build a monster out of my RS, but in reality, I want to have an fully built sti swapped Justy.

Cause old schools cool

Then Ralph and I could laugh at you new schoolers

This. If money weren't an object, I would keep my Subie and not live in Alaska. As it stands, though, Alaska won't let me keep nice things nice.

A secondary winter vehicle and a garage would change the whole game for me.

Hmmm....
-build up and stroke the engine
-bigger turbo
-upgrade diffs
-supplement my suspension with a winter setup.
Etc..

One of my goals is to have the parts and knowledge to do what ken block's crew does with his ford. Ability to swap setups based on events.
Take what's left over and buy something nice for the wife and daily drive the tribeca(or whatever baby mover we happen to decide on)

LOL, you fellers sure know how to spend some benjamins. I think Gabe and Kyle are a good ways over the $20-25K mark at this point.

The car that I would buy if it were this time next year is on the front page. I found one other STi like HERSHEY's that was for sell, which is close to what I would want. Both are basically fully functional show cars. No point in buying a new one and doing the same, I would spend almost double the money only to get the same end result.

For those that said if money were not an option you would not own a Subaru I find that hard to believe. I don't care if I make $150,000.00 a year, I will have a Subaru in my garage. It's the reliability, cheap parts, and that boxer rumble that has me sold. Plus you can make the car unique in your own way. It was fun to drive too, the fun factor is what really has me sold. Not sure when, but I'll pick one up again soon.

If money wasn't an option I'd have a 2013 BMW M5 on order right now in a MY Personal color option. I'd also order a 2012 BMW M3. If you just heard some of the exhaust clips of that V8 roaring with an aftermarket exhaust it'd make you wet your pants. But of course money is an option, reason I won't be getting a used M3, more likely a used and high modified 04-7 STi.

Yup, those sound hella sweet. So do the 08 Cobra's, and the new 11-12 S4's when piped. Boxer rumble is unique though.
