I've spent over 15k since I got it, just in repairs. Got ****ed by an unmentioned shop (figure it out) and have to get a new motor rebuilt. It's going to need a 6mt after I put a new turbo on it. It's adding up.
I'm tired of just fixing a car. I could have had a brand new sti for as much as I've out in repairs.

Cliff notes: money money money

You have a little bit of a money pit because unmentioned shop destroyed your stuff. I would get your pieces together, take a step back and put it down on paper your intended goal. What is it going cost to get to your goal. And then decide if you are better off getting another car. What are you going to do to the new car? How much is that going to cost?

Or are you the type that just need someone to tell you just get a new car.

I don't know why you would not mention the shop that destroyed your stuff.

Pretty sure that's what I just said! Weighing it out. New car won't be much more than power in this car. But it would be less power.
Might be nice to start over with a better car.

Never imagined it wasnt... and I have no doubt. :P

Seems like everyone is kinda understanding what he was asking all along lol. I wrote a lengthy post a few days ago but scrapped it.

Paraphrased: I'm not going to suggest you get an evo and be a quitter<--Objective. I will say that if you don't rush it and plan properly there is no way that you can't make your car exactly what you've always wanted it to be. Besides like MakImpreza already said How much will you end up spending on the new car?

I'm not sure if anyone here is going to say buy an evo, so imagine a collective vote from "lewisville thread" in the "keep it and fix it" column.

Well I would go with a new car with the better stuff on it for your new platform then. STI like you said would be the way to go.

I completely understand that...It's a hard position to be in. It really sucks when someone screws up your stuff and takes enjoyment out of something that you loved. I would just think that you would spend as much on a new car as you would on this one...but your point about having something nicer in the end is a valid one.

The EVO is an excellent car...I would have to agree with the above post. In the end, it's about what is going to make you happy and re-ignite that passion for cars that some retards took from you.

Motor put in 3 or 4 years ago, approx 30k. Always had some sort of issue, just didn't get unbelievably noticable due to regular Subaru oil consumption.
I'm assuming its pistons. Not 100% because I didn't get into the motor. But oil is getting past heads. Loads in my exhaust

Mmmm. I love how some people get away with destroying your car. Clean it up and sell it to someone Squids teaches so they can mess with it. Get a STI or Evo an wash your hands of it. Never ever step foot in that shop again and come to the lewisville meet when you can even if you're driving an Evo.
