Here is a quick one of my unfinished trunk. My main goal was to make sure I had room for my spare only because I daily this car upwards of 1000 miles per week. I'm thinking an exo mount is coming soon

EXO's make a world of difference, I don't think I'll have another air ride setup without utilizing EXO Mounts! Compared to my old non-EXO'd single 400c compressor (mounted in my spare tire compartment), my new dual 400c EXO mounted setup is quieter and also produces a much more pleasant noise than the single, non-EXO'd 400c.

I'm waiting for our video/graphic intern to return from his study abroad adventure so we can finish up a video demonstrating the decibel output difference of EXO vs Non-EXO compressors. I think it will be interesting to see!

I snapped this photo this morning in Kevin and I's driveway, we got our first big snowstorm here in Vermont. I'm stoked to get to the mountain ASAP! We had some good snow-drifting fun on the way to work in a safe, closed-course environment of course

Sorry I didn't see this post! We don't get to -40 (Fahrenheit) very often, but with windchill coming off Lake Champlain, it does happen on very rare occasion. We don't experience any difficulties with the cold, possibly thanks to a couple easy winterizing steps.
  1. About a cap or two of air brake anti-freeze in your air tank will keep valves, air line and fittings from icing up and restricting flow
  2. We've found that the VIAIR check valve (on the end of the compressor hose) is prone to freeze. We replace these with heavy duty SMC check valves.
  3. Drain water traps and your tank a bit more often than during the summer months, be sure to re-add anti-freeze to your tank before sealing it back up!

You can see the larger, heavy duty SMC check valves in my trunk setup, they are mounted directly to the compressor via hex nipples:

^im doing the same with my taillights for my wagon soon. I love the all red look!

Question...I want to go air ride, but you cant go air if you dont have some nice fresh wheels for the set up (am i right or am i right?!? ) I've been looking for wheels and have narrowed them down to a couple of sets. The Rota G Force has always been one of my favorites, but haven't seen people rock them on air. Is there a reason that i should only go for a specific type of wheels (brands) or can i pick anything as long as it fits right its all good?

Thanks for the love! If you have any questions about the red tail mod, feel free to shoot me a PM! There are plenty of different means to obtain the red tail look, my approach cost about $10 and a few hours of elbow grease

I do agree that wheels are necessary to pull off the stance'd or VIP look, whichever you're going for. Certain wheel companies use different processes and materials to create their cast or multi-piece wheels, but if you're in the market for a simple cast wheel they are largely the same save the performance oriented light weight wheels. Shop for a wheel in your price range that you think looks good, then use a wheel fitment calculator to ensure that it will fit. If you have larger brakes, be sure that the wheel will clear those as well! PM me if you have any questions

Curious, would there be problems with mounting an air system outside the car? It seems that the usual place for the compressors, tanks, and valves are in the trunk. What about mounting all of that under the car? Obviously with enough clearance to still lay frame. I'm only curious because I have quite a void where my muffler used to be. I figure the space might be perfect for a bunch of air components.

As long as you ensure that the products you are installing at waterproof, and any wiring you do is shielded from the outside elements, there is no problem in doing this at all! In fact, it is common practice in the mini-truck scene to mount tanks, compressors and valves under the bed of the truck. As you mentioned, you just want to make sure that there is proper ground clearance to avoid breaking anything while driving low.

Let me know if you have any further questions!

I had a bit of a situation with my winter setup I bought a set of used Audi Fat 5's on another forum where they were listed as 5x100, however upon receiving the wheels they were 5x112. I'm currently stuck without winter wheels while I wait for a set of cast wheels I ordered from Rotiform, luckily the guys at Rotiform are super helpful and expedited my order so I should have the wheels within 5 days and therefore have a safe winter setup by next weekend! I'll be sure to post pictures once everything is all done

Kevin and I were spotted in Modified Mag's coverage of WBM 2012! I think the caption to the photo is pretty funny "That's right... Subaru's on Air Ride, a trend that seems to be gaining popularity". Considering Kevin's car was the only car on Air at WBM 2011, and this year there were four bagged Subies (all on Bag Riders setups!) we're very stoked to see air ride gaining recognition in the Subie community that we've loved for so many years now!

Hello there Dr. Balog! Hope you enjoy the hipster sunglasses :P They're one of our many promotional items we ship out with kits and hand out at shows; probably my favorite that we've done thus far though fortune cookies with quotes from 'The Fast and the Furious' were also a big hit Give us a jingle if you have any questions during the install!

Can't wait to see the finished project man, I still remember seeing you roll into the hotel parking lot at SoWo and being super stoked to finally see your car in person! The fact that I had had a few drinks also added to my excitement Hope to see ya again at SoWo '13! We're probably driving down this year in which case I'll bring my Subie as we surely can't depend on any of these silly VW's and Audi's to make the voyage without breaking at least once Just kidding, sort of.
