Angry Shifter ball joint seal broke :(

So I installed the Cobb adjustable short shifter...took it for a test run and all was great. I let my noob of a fiance' try it out and she kept throwing it into 5th instead of 3rd and jerking it around etc.

All of a sudden she tries to get it back into 3rd and the shifter goes limp. I assumed the C-ring just popped out and things were fine...took apart the console and found this-->

Does Subaru carry these? Also, how do you think this happened? I assume the C-ring wasn't fully locked in or my girls noob strength just pwned it.

It can crack when you put it onto the new shifter, I know i have a brand new one, but honestly have no idea where it would be, will take a look

Yeah I could feel how fragile it was when I pulled it off the oem shifter.

It's a temp fix lol. They are in the process of shipping it.

I just fit the 2 pieces around the ball, popped the o-rings on, and got it into the socket. Then I made SURE that the C-ring was properly seated over it and it is holding up very nicely...surprisingly.

The new one comes in tomorrow and I will be changing it out. I just couldn't wait!
