In 2 weeks or so, we will setup another cruise through the mountains. The more people that can attend the cruise the better the videos will be.

Where/when will this cruise through the mountains be? I'm down in Columbia and I'm very interested in a mountain drive. Haven't been in the mountains since I lived in NH. Let me know as soon as you have more info. PM me, for sure I'll try to make it and drag along a few others.

I had a lot of fun yesterday, the meets keep getting better and better .

I think ^ this one should be one of our meets . The payout its 300 bucks and they don't let previous winners run which is good since the gtr's already won some of them . 300 bucks should cover replacement parts like axles, rear diff, or clutch incase something goes bad. Lets try to make it either on september or october when its colder since we make more power and muscle cars don't have traction . Most of the winners are running in the flat 8s, most of our cars should be able to run that time with a good driver.

8's? I don't have much hope with a stock turbo forester, but you guys running bigger turbos shouldn't have any problem hitting those times from my experience at the Ware Shoals 1/8 mile...

any WRX or STI with a VF series size turbo on pump gas with a good tune and driver should run in 8s. Any wrx or Sti with VF series turbo on E85 or racegas should run low 8s and even break into the 7s if the driver is decent.

Last time winner was 8.0 by a grand national in 105 degree heat, time before that was a vet on spray running 7.5 or 7.7, but the kicker is no awd.

http://www.v8muscle.net/

In their rules its no awd or 4x4 allowed. The race the GTR won was Greer's Stock car Race, where any stock car could compete for I think 200 dollars every Thursday night, and that GTR just stole the show with a 6.87 with launch control(and from what I heard was not stock with an exhaust and a tune). I haven't heard much of the stock car race anymore since this came around.

It was meant so cars like the gtr wouldn't come and run close to 2 seconds faster than the whole field and run away with the prize. It is meant to be a drivers race, you can have an over powered car stuggling and feathering for traction vs a stock car that runs well on tje tires just needs to be good, and a little bit of luck.

The guys at v8 muscle.net are really nice they tuned my trans am. I wish I could run my wrx but it does kind of take the skill out of traction and knowing limits.

weaksause!

Yeah no GTR is going to run 6.87 stock... It probably was on E85, with intakes, and mid pipe.

No AWD what a joke, they have twice the number the cylinder than we have and they cry about AWD . They don't realize that we have higher drivetrain loss and the AWD system add a ton of weight.

Cry me a river

You should post something on their thread... exclude the GTR and that's it. There is no reason for excluding us we have drivers cars not computers like the GTR.

I bet when you start limiting this car and that car it could be a mess. I have hears complaints from other v8 cars who think power adders should have a different class because you can easy off the line and let the boost roll in or use a health shot of gas in the back half, both winners so have have done so and i predict more will. I guess at the end of the day you cant make everyone happy.

So, no awd, but I'm guessing those big v8's are allowed to use spray?

Makes sense.

What's up everyone. Just moved to the Greenville sc area. Seems a good amount of this thread is Greenville area. I enjoy about all kinds of Motorsport with my Subaru and always look to have fun in it or my crap 240 that I take to myrtle beach from time to time. Just wanted to say hi and hope to have some spirited driving with some of you guys sooner or later. Are there any meets or hangout spots in the area?

No a GTR is not really a drivers car.

The event should be called: "STREET TIRE SHOOTOUT: V8 RWD ONLY"

fwd cars do not have a chance on street tires....
