Default Removing marks off rim

This is what it looks like

Iv tried mothers aluminum cleaner and it didnt work. I bought these used so i have no clie what it is. It feels like its above the rim and isnt smooth.

.....don't use Mother Mag & Alum polish. Those wheels are coated and that product is intended for bare metal surfaces.

As for that it, it appears to either be scratches and/or some sort of etching (chemical, defect or...?). I doubt there will be much you can do about it at this point aside from having it refinished.

It looks to be oxidized. The only fix for that is to strip it down and refinish it.

Does it feel smooth to the surface or does it raise up on those spots?

have you tried to compound it? Maybe using a APC or specific wheel cleaner could work.

Certainly oxidation (Al Alloy had "rusted" under the clear-coat, which is happens, unfortunately) ..you may have some peeling off of the clearcoat..

I have the same issue on a set of used wheels I bought....

Ugh im scared to see what refinishing costs. Since i picked them up for 500 with new tires it probably wont be cost effective to refinish them.

Powdercoat would run you around $400 for the set. You could also paint them yourself w/ minimal stripping for under $100
