Default Any difference b/w '92 and '98 2.2L engines?

Were any significant improvements made by '98? Same power and torque? Will the '92 engine easily swap into a '98? Same ecu? Thanks!

different wiring harnesses & definately a different ecu...but it should be swappable with some work. but your best bet would be to find the same motor that your car has...that way all you have to do is pull the first and put in the second. i don't know about you...but the only way i'd want to mess with the harnesses is if i were going to a turbo or twin turbo motor.

Swappable yes, most definitely. Electronics, I'm not sure about. Here are some differences though:

92 2.2 has hydraulic lifters, 98 2.2 has solid lifters
92 2.2 is noninterference, 98 2.2 is interference
98 2.2 has higher compression and a bit more HP and torque
