Hi guys, thought I'd throw up abit of a build thread. Nothing too major done to the car but she is!
***Didnt realise limitations to 10 pics per post so some not included***
Said to myself, not going to go "silly" with modding. Just a shot on the Great Ocean Road.
But too late.. lol
**Did have photos some were, but obviously not.
First mods were purchasing a 3inch to 2.5 Turboxs tbe and a AVO CAI and a tune. Pulled 166kw at JJM.
Also around same time got an after market sti wing fitted and painted at Prestige Paintwerks.
Now as you have noticed the wheels have changed colour! Thats because one afternoon washing the car I discovered a crack in one of the spokes which a wheel repair place would not touch! So scrambling as I did to try and find another wheel as I didnt like the idea of driving on it I finally found a replacement but in Silver rather than the charcoal that mine had.
Now these wheels are rare, almost 4k new from subaru. So for $350 for a replacement I thought not too bad.
So decided to start a black on black look and decided to gradually paint the wheels.
Just used a gloss jet black and hours and hours and hours of sanding lol.
Obviously along the way picked up a couple gauges, boost and a wideband. Decided to black out my headlights and attempt the bmw halo's around the projector.
This is how they came out.
In the right lighting look absolutely amazing.
NOW! This is were the fun began with plastidip. After a recent show n shine and comparing my car to others I was un happy with the state of the paint work on the front of the car, bonnet/bumper. As it was littered with chips and driving and being black it showed EVERYTHING. So I thought I'll try this plastidip before I consider a respray.
This was all painted outside withing my carport/tent that I used in the backyard. I think it came out great. I wasn't aiming to be a show car but the tiny mistakes only I could point out to others.
Further down the track it was due for tyres! So recently had a good week at work and decided to try a different style of wheel. So without breaking the bank I decided on a set of Rota Grids in 18x8.5 +44 on some 235 rubber. Comes out awesome. A little to get used to as they look smaller than the previous wheels but they have grown on me.
Now this is were she is pretty much at, fitted a MoMan plasma gauge overlay/insert to change the crappy oem green of the cluster.
And more updates are coming as I've just ordered a set of BC BR's and can't wait to drop her a little more and looking even tougher
