Thank you sir! It was nerve-wracking for sure. I made sure the template was a little undersized that way I could remove a little bit at a time to get the fit I was looking for.

That's the plan. Problem is I don't care for the look of the spoiler from Subaru and I'm pretty positive the STi spoiler won't fit which means it will have to be custom. I've been toying with a few ideas so when I have the time and money I'll bring this project to fruition.

That is a garage door seal that can be found at Home Depot/Lowes. It's temporary until a more affordable solution presents itself cuz quite frankly $500 for the factory a lip is a little absurd.

I don't understand the purpose of license plate locks. Is license plate theft really a problem?

Judging from the packaging, maybe it is a problem in China.

Over here in Oakland, CA it is a problem..

Either your plates or your registration sticker will be missing.

Common to put stolen L's plates on to do robberies.

Yup....the stealing of registration stickers is more prevalent down here in the OC however every once and a while you hear about plates being stolen.

Here is the info from Garudatwo on the footwell led install:

Regarding the footwell light: I just installed a set of LED strips as footwell lights today. The process is very simple:

Parts: wires, push switch, red double ended wire connector thing, blue ring connector thing, fuse tap (small copper piece, not a tap a fuse), wire end connector: female (red) (think hella horn connectors)

Process: for the LED strips:

1)strip 1" off the clear wires of the LED strips, twist them together, and crimp them in the blue ring connector.
2)strip 1" off the colored wires, twist them together, and insert into one end of the double ended red wire connector.
3)take out the fuse for either the CIGAR or 12V in your fuse box, re-insert with the fuse tap piece.
4)connect one end of the push switch's cable to the red female connector, the other end into the unused hole of the double ended wire connector
5)connect the female connector to the fuse tap
6)connect the ring terminal to a ground (pick a screw that's attached to a metal part)

Common sense stuff:
Extend wires if they're too shorts, electrical tape all connections, and mount leds and the switch (I mounted my switch under the steering wheel base), hide stray wires under the dash, etc etc.

When you turn on the ignition to either ACC or ON, the lights will turn on, and you have the option to turn it off with the switch. If you don't care if they're on during the day (you can barely notice them anyways), feel free to skip the step with the switch.

Link to fuse tap, you can find them at autoshops:

As for the LED strips, I bought them off Ebay. My intention was to hook them up to function as DRL's but I chose a different path for two reasons: I wanted them on all the time and they didn't turn out as bright as I hoped.
The strips have an adhesive backing on them so I just adhered them to the inside of the fog light recess and taped into a power source that receives 12 volts when the key is turned to the on position.

You got some nice mods going on there.

Question about the LED bumper reflectors again, the wiring is actually not long enough to reach the spliced wire from my taillight, which is kind of annoying (it is an easy fix though). Just wondering if you had problems with that.

The wiring was short but I was able to manage. In hindsight though I probably should have lengthened the wires. Whatever happened with the brake light issue and not being able to shift?

My wiring is just barely long enough, I used electrical tape on it to hold it into place; however, it has since come loose.

My dealership finally fixed it, took them forever though (almost two weeks). Something to do with the shift lock solenoid. They had to call Subaru Canada and talk to their tech team to figure this out.

I'm looking into a few things...body mods (need wheels first), finishing the exhaust, some interior mods and suspension mods. I want to finish the exhaust but the exhaust tip I want has an 8 week lead time. Some suspension and body mods are contingent on the wheels plus I need to get quotes on what I need done or source everything myself. For the time being though, I ordered some 3M vinyl to match the flat aluminum trim on the dash. If it arrives soon enough I might be able to get to it this weekend.

Where will you be applying the aluminum 3M vinyl?

You planning on modding the rear bumper diffuser for the exhaust tip to clear or it will remain underneath like stock?

I would like to go for a subtle look so for the time being I am going to apply it to the trim pieces where the window switches are on all 4 doors. I was also thinking about the trim around the pull handle that opens the rear doors but since there isn't the same trim up front, I might not apply it there.

I'll be cutting a hole in the rear bumper for this install.
