Default Where exactly is Camshaft Position Sensor, Bank 1

Done a lot of searching on the internet and in my engine bay and can't find Camshaft Position Sensor, Bank 1.

Where EXACTLY is the sensor on the passenger side? Explained for a dummy.
There are 2 camshaft sensors, right?

Thank you!

My mechanic sees nothing, only thinks there is 1 sensor by oil dipstick.
Subaru repair manual also only shows 1 sensor.
For 2002 WRX. Camshaft position sensor, not crankshaft.

I keep reading so many mixed things online too. Anyone have a picture?

I believe maybe your car only has one, although some have two. i looked at my 04 manual and the STi has 2 but the wrx only has one...

So it seems like STi has 2, WRX has 1. But why would I get a CEL for Bank 1 then?

If there is only one bank sensor, (on one bank) it would probably make sense to call it 'Bank 1'.

Got it, that's right when there is only 1 cam sensor it comes up with that code by default.

Dood chill. Download a Factory Service Manual for your car for starters if you are going to replace anything it will answer most questions. How you obtain one I can't help you, either do the right thing and purchase the PDF or disobey copyright rules.

Once you do that go to engine diagnostics. On pg9 of the 06 manual there is every sensor location for the engine. I'm sure the 02 won't be far off.

The 02 WRX has only one sensor and its the one the driver side by the dipstick, sticking into the cam covers. If we have an 02 drop in i will post a pic.
