Default Special edition BMW M3 revealed

Quote:
BMW has revealed its new BMW M3 Coupe Frozen Silver Edition, a special edition model that is limited to just 100 examples in the UK.
The Frozen Silver Edition receives the same 4.0-litre V8 as the standard BMW M3, but adds BMW’s Competition Pack, which comprises of 10mm lowered suspension and a seven-speed M-DCT transmission; this lowers the car’s 0-62mph time from 4.8 to 4.6 seconds.
The Competition Pack also includes an extra setting on the electronically-controlled dampers (to firm the dampers up) when in Sport mode and a slightly altered stability control system.
The special edition M3 is finished in ‘Frozen Silver’ paint and comes fitted with contrasting matte black 19-inch light-weight Competition alloys. Dark chrome exhaust tailpipes, front grilles and side-vents are added to BMW’s Shadowline trim to complete the exclusive exterior package.
Interior features include carbonfibre touches to the dashboard, door inserts and centre console. The seats are two-tone black and grey leather. A '1 of 100' plaque also adorns each car.
The new M3's Alcantara steering wheel with M3 chequered flag inlay is the same as that found in the exclusive M3 GTS.
Prices of the BMW M3 Coupe Frozen Silver Edition start from £58,720, which represents a premium of £4000 over a standard M3 Coupe. It goes on sale at the beginning of June

The current M3 chassis looks played out. I'm sure M3 fanbois will jump on this, though.

Hardly different from the regular M3, but I suppose the BMW fanatics in the UK will snatch these up, just like those M3 Tiger Editions sold in China.

The new M3 is an absolute hoot to drive, but it's starting become...*gasp*...less of a sports car and more of a luxury barge. It's heavy, complicated, kind of big, and slightly numb. Yes I know on paper it's fast and has massive grip, but in a weird way I prefer the E46. It's still a pleasure to wring out that V8, though.

Another one? What is the M3 the new Mustang or something?

The M3 has come a long way since its original sports car days. The dynasty of all sports cars goes this way it seems, unfortunately.

If I recall corretly they do a "frost" edition every year or so. I think they were like Macy's cataloge specials only though. I remember them doing a Frost version before...

I noticed my local dealer had one of these in stock (for a good amount of time already) and they want $89K for it!

Ok, not this exact edition, but the frozen Gray with comp package.
