Question air filtration system........how often do you change the filter?

Hi. I was wondering how often you have to change the filter for the optional air filtration system? And how much do new filters cost?

I just got one at my local Subaru dealer and the filter was $35....if you go to www.subaruparts.com they are $27.50 + 6.50 S&H.

I'd just get it from the dealer though it is P/N G3210FC000

As a rule of thumb I would change the filter at LEAST every spring, maybe twice a year if you use your heat or A/C a lot more than normal.

Tats.

Info on installing the filter. Here is a pic of a filter after one year:

Question

Does anyone know if they offer a HEPA filter at all? As an allergy sufferer, I would love to have one in my RS.

Yeah, that's about right.

Loki, just take any HEPA filter material, cut it to size, and shove it in there! Maybe make a gasket out of duct tape or something. I'm using a 3M furnace filter -- each one costs me about $5.00 and works fine (as confirmed by my g/f's allergies). Working on the web page with install instructions...

My owner's manual says:
"Every 12 months or 7,500 miles whichever comes first." Also, "Note: The filter can influence the air conditioning, heating and defroster performance."
