2011-2012 Ice Racing!!

2011-2012 Ice Racing season has finished.

Our ice racing season is coming up fast, with our first event only about 6 weeks away!

Individual event registration will be open online at least 1 week before each event, and of course available the day of the event.

A competition license for $35 will also be required for the Super Stud class. If you already purchased this at the 2011 Spring or Fall Tanacross then you will not need to purchase again.

Our first event will be on Sunday, December 11 on Big Lake. This will be a meet & greet event with Ice Racing Alaska snow machine group, and thus will also be a no-fee no-points race day.
Our first paid and points event will be the following Saturday, December 17.

We will also be supporting the Wounded Warrior Project this season by donating $10 of every event registration.

Jan 08 - Day Races with Ice Racing Alaska (snow machines)
Jan 28 - Race (Road Course or Oval Track)
Feb 11 - Race (Road Course or Oval Track)
Feb 18 - Race (Road Course or Oval Track)
Mar 10 - Race (Road Course or Oval Track)

Event Fee
$60 / event

Too much power is actually a big problem on the ice. Smoothness and maintaining momentum, yet still making the corners is the key.

If you run in the rubber to ice class, no studs and your car must meet a typical autocross tech inspection. We had a lot of folks run rubber to ice last year, and a few studded cars came out. :-)

If you are running studded tires of any kind, your car must have a cage and meet IT rules minimum. (rules on www.aksportscarclub.org)

All I will say to this is buyer beware. I know Jason from my motocross years. He is a good fellow but there have been lots of growing pains with his events over the years. He sometimes makes promises that haven't been kept..especially in the payout department.

This is our meet & greet date with Ice Racing Alaska (snow machines). More details will be sent out before the event.

This is a no-points, no-fee event date to test your car and ensure you are ready for the points season.

There will be no online pre-registration. Any car wishing to participate will need to bring their required gear and their car will need to pass a technical inspection that morning.

We will be looking for comments, suggestions and feedback from this event at our monthly meeting on December 13th.

December 17, 2011
This is our first paid and points race day.
Online Pre-Registration is now open for this event. It will close on December 15 at 11:59PM.

Season Pass registrants also need to ensure they pay for their season pass by morning of this event. You can purchase a season pass for $360 (save $60!) online by December 15.

Special Guest: David Freiburger
We are expecting to have editor David Freiburger from Hot Rod Magazine to participate in our December 17 race! He is doing a new web show, will be traveling up the Alcan and is looking to have the final episode ending with him participating in our ice race!

This will be featured in their magazine and their website. We will announce more finalized details as they come to us.

We want to ensure that we have a huge turnout for races this day so please mark this event on your calendar!
