Default A/C Conversion 07' > 11' Weight shed

I've been contemplating on swapping my 07' A/C compressor to the newer 08+ model. The new units are 9.9lbs, as the previous gen units are 15.7lbs. The newer a/c units provide a 11% less drag and power loss, which isn't a lot, but better... right?

This will all be done in my swapped daily driven GC8.
Has anyone done this? The new inline switch is 4 pin, compared to the older 2 pin. The newer lines connect to the 02-07 ' hvac expansion port pretty well, but running into space issues w/ the way the new lines run around the tmic.

I am thinking om keeping the entire old system and swapping in the compressor. I will just swap the single pin harness on the compressor.

any ideas..?

So, I pulled the old compressor out and fit up the new gen compressor. Brackets differ, but still bolt up at the same points on the block.
Low/high pressure hoses route slightly different and won't work well in the GC as is. I'm also noticing the switch on the condenser return line is 4 pin an the old switch is 2 pin. The compressor harness guide/snap in differ, but are single pin. So, just a simple harness swap there.

I fell better w/ keeping the entire old routing system of lines. I will just have the newer line ends that mate to the compressor, fitted to the old H/L lines.

If all goes well, I plan to dyno soon and will post stats of power loss when old/new a/c units are switched on.
