Default 235/45/17 on stock 2009 WRX rims

I know this is out there but I wanted to ask everyone here.

What are your thoughts on running a 235/45/17 on my 09 WRX stock rims?
Would there be any issues, how would they look? Just wanting to see if anyone else has these. Im sure people do but i cant find anything

Any info will be huge!! Thank you

I don't have any first hand experience with this but I did look into it a bit. The 225s are at the limit of what most manufacturers recommend with a 7" rim. In fact they are already outside what most say. Having said that, I have come across people claiming to run up to 245s with no issues. Your grip would improve but turn in is apparently a bit more vague. You may also want to run more tire pressure than stock. But please don't take my word for anything more than speculation because, like I said, I haven't tried it.

Not from what I heard elsewhere... I would be surprised if spacers were needed. Let us know your driving impressions once you have tried some corners and stuff.

Sorry just now saw this, glad to hear you seem to have no issues, but I had to get my rear fenders rolled to fit 235s. I'm on 8" wheels with a more aggressive offset but, 225s didn't rub on those same wheels (TSW nurburgrings).

If you hear rubbing when going over bumps or accelerating you'll know what happened : P

Good luck

offset and wheel size have a lot to do with rubbing, along with ride height. But everything else being stock? Probably okay.

Default they will rub

My stock 09 hatchback has a very small amount of rubbing, both front and back.
The rears rub on the inside front, very lightly

The front rubs under hard cornering (as becomes possible with big sticky tires).

This is for the stock dunlops taken from a 2013 wrx and mounted on my stock 09 rims.

Right now I am at the decision point of whether to go find the right size tires or find a workaround to the rubbing.
