Default New to Subarus

Whats up guys/girls. Just picked up my first subaru.. Ive been wanting a wrx wagon for awhile, finally picked up an 02 PSM wrx today. I'm looking to meet up with a knowledgable person who can take a look at my car and possibly school me on some stuff. I live in pawtucket, and can drive anywhere in the state, or SE mass. I'm just looking to chat with someone who can give the basics of owning a wrx.. willing to pay for he right persons time, with cash, beer, food, etc..

My wagon has mods, i can see, and maybe some i can't?.. I think it may have some suspension work done (looks lowered), it definitely has a cobb exhaust, also came with an access port v1, there is a toggle switch on the dash i have no clue what it does (noob) ..

History of the car (i was told)

2 owner:
the first owner was a business man who installed a few mods.
the second owner (a woman) worked for the first owner, and bought the car to commute in.. she didn't do anything, but bring it to the dealer for service as needed, and oil changes. she had absolutely no clue what the mods were that were done.

anyone up for a meet?

**creep disclaimer** im a 34 yr old married father of 2, just looking to pick the brain of someone who is knowledgable in subarus.. let me know! ill post some pics when i take some in the next day or so..

thanks all

I apologize if this is in the wrong forum..

Welcome, congratulations and no it's not the wrong forum.

Search and look for local meets. Post up and see when there is one you're willing to go to that works for you and have fun. Most members I've met have been very friendly and willing to help out with what ever they could.

Also, fill out your profile. It helps out other members for future questions and/or threads you might make or be in.

Being in RI, I would say go over to Wicked Innovations, Matt should be able to help you out.

Wicked Innovations... That shop that moved up to Manchester, NH?

Matt should still be able to help, but Wicked is no longer in RI.

Well you started in the right direction last night by coming to the S. RI meet. There are regulars at the meet who are very knowledgeable and will be happy to discuss your new ride and anything about it.

Hope to see you again next week! After looking at one in my driveway every day for close to a year now, I've developed a soft spot for bugeye wagons

I am OBSESSED with reading about subarus the last few weeks/days.. trying to learn about all the different parts/companies etc..

i was in the market for an sti, then decided we would have our third child... sooooo, the sti had to be put on the back burner.. the wife got a new Armada, and i got a older wagon to get my fix Hopefully in a couple years, i can start rethinking my STI plans again... maybe a 2016-2017?

Ive been a sport bike rider for 10 yrs, and recently sold my last bike not too long ago.. i know NOTHING about cars.. although in 97, i had a 95 supercharged GS-R .Im super excited to learn how to maintain, and work work to my subaru.. I've got ALOT of learning to do.. please bear wit me if i ask silly questions..

Any performance brands to stay away from?

for the longest time, the 04-05 front end was my favorite, BUT the bugeye has definitely grown on me,.. i really like this wagon!
