You know you drive a wrx/sti when you hear your turbo spool and there is a big grin on your face.

Unfortunately that grin has been wiped from mine, because something is broken or leaking and I have little/no boost.

My best friend demolished a turbo doing this in his 08 wrx. How, I don't know but it can be done. At least that's what the stealership said. So be careful with it.

I ran open downpipe on my srt4 for the 5 years that I owned it and had no issues. Sounded good, spit flames under the chassis, but was way too loud for my tastes, and the amount of fumes always made me nauseous.

He wouldn't have blown his turbo just because he was running an open DP... There's another story behind what he told you, I'm just saying.

It could screw up the oxygen sensor readings possibly. Otherwise I agree

You didn't like how loud it was and the fumes made you nauseous, but you ran it that way for 5 years? Why?

Oh, and this is another way you know you drive a WRX/STI, when one of the major forums for you car is full of people who don't give a **** about hijacking a thread.
