They can give you a ticket, but this is why there is a giant chance the ticket would be thrown out if you fight it.

But the speed limit is the maximum allowed speed, not the recommended cruising speed. It would be your choice to drive at the edge of that limit, so it would be your fault for violating that limit.

5 MPH is the +/- here (my guess for why it was 6). Like I said, my speedo read over the limit so I knowingly broke the limit and am ok with paying the fine. He could have definitely waited for someone else with a higher ticket....but I was breaking the law. The fact that he called me ricer though
