My friend and I have squared off. I have a '13 STI (slower than a wrx and stock) and he has a '12 GT mustang stock. Granted, it was close....but all 10 runs I beat him. AWD FTW as we didn't go above 80.

So it was a V6 Mustang? That's the only plausible explanation ruling out your friend's driving ability.

EDIT: Did not see the GT part when I replied the first time. I'm an idiot. Flame on.

I beat the new 2012 5.0 mustang at a well prepped 0.25mi track by 0.2s(I ran 13.7 bone stock 2011 STi), he did trap 12mph faster than myself though. Later in the day he did post up a better ET, but that AWD launch got him shook and spinning. On the streets 0-80 the STi should win everytime assuming theyre not scared of hurting the car on the launch (I cut a 1.8s 60' on the run beating him). Why can't people wrap their heads around the fact that AWD is vastly easier to drag race than a RWD car with power due to no loss of traction?

True, but with some light modding or an auto GT, they will run low 12s with a bone stock engine.

When I was out at the 1/4 mile with my GT, a few ran low 12s with stock everything. Hell, I never dragged a car before and I was getting low 13s with my 19" wheels and aired up tires.

When in the middle of the night you hear a subaru with a similar exhaust to yours start and you immediately think someone is stealing your car.

Guy across the street from me has the same car as me. Every time he starts it I have a mini heart attack.

I'd watch out though, some diesel trucks out there are bad mofos. I watched some at the strip running 10's and they were driven there lol.

I just noticed we've got a good amount of aggressive wrx/sti drivers on here haha

Word. I've seen daily driven trucks blow the doors off of guys that have purpose built drag cars. All Cummins
