6k seems a little low for redline on a 2.0l DIT motor, but the other specs look good.

400 N-M = 300 Ft-Lb, which bodes well for a CVT Diesel combination, or maybe a 1.6l version of this engine for the Impreza/XV.

I miss the Legacy GT wagon too...

Impressive specifications! Finally a scoob with an impressively flat torque curve!

What engine is this based on? The only DI engine in the FHI lineup currently is the FA20? Did they turbo that?

I thought this was a diesel? If it is, a 6k red line is not bad.

I don't have cash (financing pre-approved) but I would get it too. I was all set to buy an outback 3.6 but I test drove it and was disappointed. Sitting and weighing options.

Actually, 40.8 kgm converts to 295.1 lbft, which is still very impressive.

I hope this engine is the reason why the Legacy 2.5GT has been discontinued for 2013 MY.

I think that's a typo and he meant DI (as in direct injection).

Seriously? You gonna make me use a tilda instead of an equal sign for rounding up a couple of percent?

If that makes it here by 2014 I'll be picking one up pronto. Love wagons and this should be good for at least 25mpg highway which is all I need. Undecided about the CVT though. I drove an NA outback while my car was in the shop... still don't like them. Here's to hoping they will at least offer it with a different automatic. I've owned nothing personally but manuals for the past 10 years. With all the high traffic metro areas I've been in and having a much bigger family now means I'm not as gung ho on the manual as I have in the past. If the CVT is the only manual option though, I might just have to go manual again... if offered that is.

Man, that's nice.

Even if we don't see that car here, I'd bet we'll see the drivetrain.
