What is this that is leaking oil?

I have an 07 impreza 2.5i. I noticed this very small oil leak about a year ago and took it to a dealership to have them look at it because it was still under warranty. They said they couldn't find any leak and said the oil in this area was from me pouring the oil in during an oil change and missing the funnel. (no way) But, it seemed to stop. Now a year later, I noticed the oil leak is back and seems to be faster from the same spot. I just have no idea what this cable/hose is to replace it. I took it to a local mechanic and he said it was one of the power steering hoses. Not sure if he is right or not. Can anyone tell me what this is that is leaking?

I'm not exactly sure, it could be a cam position sensor.

Buy a 3 day subscription to STIS and find out.

Not exactly correct - this engine has Variable Valve Lift not variable cam timing (AVCS) - and it is physically impossible for a camshaft position sensor to leak oil on that engine. Camshaft position sensor is the black plug down below the oil control solenoid (round thing with blue plug).

The item in the photo marked "this is leaking" is the oil pressure sensor for the variable valve lift control system. Either the switch is leaking or it is leaking where it screws in to the head. whether he needs to replace the switch or reseal it depends on where the oil is coming out. Either way the threads need to be coated with THREE BOND 1324 and the switch torqued to 12.5 ft-lb.
