What car would the 8100 X-Cess be used in?

Fill in your profile with at least the year and model so people can more easily answer your questions.

Good stuff. I've seen a few uoa's on it over at bitog. My lowest overall uoa wear numbers have been with Motul. But if you have an Impeza 2.5i, or another n/a Impreza, the Eco-nergy 5W-30 is fine.

your car is over 10 years old, boutique oil isn't going to make a difference in it now.
Save your money for maintenance stuff.
i've had good experiences with the w30/40 Castols, both rotella t5/t6 5w30/15w40, Delvac 15w40 with no consumption..in both my old 205 and 207 .

Car is pretty well up to date on major maintenance and whatnot. Just lookin around for opinions on good synthetic oils. Just cause it's 10 years old does not mean i'm going to slack on it one bit, i'll still be putting high grade quality stuff into the car

Been about two weeks with Motul and she's lovin it

^^^ Listen to the Unc.

Motul is good stuff for sure, but unless you're getting a smoking hot deal on it there's little reason to use it over other readily available options. You're paying a bunch of money so you can tell your friends you use a fancy brand. Same goes for 300V.

We use motul 5w30 c3 xclean 8100 as our base synthetic oil change for our customers. I ran 8000 mile oci and tested it with great results from Blackstone. We have had customers who switched to Subaru synthetic and started consuming oil every 1000 miles. Went back to the motul and no consumption. We probably run through 75 gallons of motul a month in customer cars, so we would definitely see an issue if there was one. We charge 60 for a motul change with oem filter so you can gauge pricing based on that.

That's for a DIY, different parameters buddy when talking installed, with filter, crush washer, disposal, etc.

Please don't mock folks who aren't DIY. It's rude and un called for.

Default Pu

Pennzoil Ultra Euro 5W-40 did very well in my aging (+100T Mile) WRX. The UOA was posted some time ago.
The wear numbers were very, very low. Good oil. Just like Motul.
Also Total Quartz 9000 Energy 5W-40 is worth trying.
See the trend?
I DON"T shop in Walmart.
Your mileage may vary of course

What's wrong with Walmart? T6 is $21 a gallon at mine, compared to Advanced where it is $28. That's the cheapest I've seen it around here.

im not mocking ANYBODY....but PAYING $60 for an oil change for a subaru is just ridiculous beyond words to me......

i would likely find somebody in one of the local to me area forums who i trusted to do an oil change for me and have them do it....likely for a 6pk or some such barter

but I digress

The MallWart experience can be summed up with purchase of a cart full of flavored lard varieties, a life size game of bumper car/ pacman and a toy Mericun flag with a little made in china sticker on it's bottom.

But will venture forth for good oil. Despite having worked there.

60 dollars is 2 years of oil changes.
