Just Dip! They might be a little wet there, They look like they are glossy but they really aren't, the flat black just reflects a little more light than one might think in those pics.

Detailing clay, i would try that out if you get spray particles on your paint that you dont want... makes it easier than picking at it |

I used plasti dip as a basecoat and grimspped bbs gold. Looked and held up great until i got tires installed. The edges were peeled back so i took it off. It was temporary anyway so i didnt mind. I spent over $15 in quarters trying to get it all off. lol

Did this to my wheels about 4 months ago and it still looks great!...on 3 of the wheels. The front drivers side is starting to peel at the edges and will need to be redone. Still for as many drive through carwashes as the cars been through I think it's holding up pretty well.

Im guessing leaving the original finish on the edge/lip would have kept the damage to a minimum?

Do you guys do the inner well of the wheel as well? Most videos just do the outer surface, but it looks good on the inside as well. LMK! Thanks guys

Some of you are overthinking this a little.
![]() This stuff is REALLY forgiving. You don't need to be an experienced painter to paint this stuff. If you spray it wrong, either peel it off, or add more coats to your preference (spray close for a smooth, glossier finish, spray further away for a rough, matte surface). This stuff is also a bitch to clean in my experience. It's rubbery. It has a lot of grip, making it a pain to wipe down. It attracts dust like crazy. This stuff also hates sharp corners and friction. It will peel! Once a small corner tears, it continues to peel off like a thread on a cheap t-shirt. |

Agreed. Leave your factory wheels the color they came, and buy an aftermarket set of rims if you want to change your style. plasti-dipping rims
(especially black) makes them look like steelies, in my opinion. |
