Hey I'm new to the forums but I am not new to cars, I have 184k miles on my 2004 wrx, mostly highway and I am currently running 10w-30 gtx with decent amount of oil burn off. I can not give an exact oil burn off because of varying driving habits. I changed my oil at 1500 miles and it pours out like water! Kinda scary. but would it be safe to switch to rotella t6 with all the good reviews

OP, after you make your switch please report back on the status of your oil consumption. I'm curious if the RT6 helps

Hit up Walmart for a gallon jug (or two)
I've found it's usually $21'ish there as opposed to $26'ish at Autozone. |

My '02 loves it (91K mi.) - zero loss in 3200 miles this OCI and still looks golden on the 'stick.
Nor Cal Autozone has T6 on sale now for $4 off (so 22.99 or 23.99/gall.) but don't sell quarts - just FYI if AZ is closer to you than Wallymart |

Ok guys thank you for the great knowledge, I changed the oil last night and of course forgot to grease my UOA bottle as I took the plug out but there no need to know if I'm not using gtx any more, will keep checking oil every 200 miles and post back

Rotella for the win!!!!!!!!!! With 1076 miles and I don't burn any on my trip that made up the last 640 miles considering I was cruising at 80 which is about 3000-3250rpm for 4 hrs straight, this oil works AWESOME!!!!!!!!
