Default Importing from UK

I'm going to be spending the next 4 years in the UK and It occurred to me to buy a 2009-2012 STi Hatch whilst there. The idea of having a right hand side STi is a dream of many. Google Search (and forum search) for that matter, hasn't yeilded alot of info about how hard it would be to bring this foreign treasure back with me.

Now, I know that if the car is produced in the states that the crash rating is proven. It is. I'm just trying to find out what all I would have to do and how much it would cost to bring it back. I would be more than fine keeping it stock and doing the neccesary US modifications whilst there for safe travel when I come back to the US. The military pays to ship my vehicle so shipping is not a concern.

I know that I couldn't bring a diesel legacy or a forester STi back with me, but is it practical to bring a euro STi Back. Please, if anyone has first hand experience with this let me know. If it's impossible, I need to have my heart broken right away. From what I read on the examiner it seemed quite possible even though it was less than 25 years old. Please help a guy out
