I'm not going to make it either. I blew it and let my insurance expire. Have fun and be safe guys!

Forgot my account name but not that important.

Came across this happy bunch (wrxfr3ak227) yesterday afternoon. Talk about a ring experience! I think 4 of their group spun out with still a 4hour drive to get home.

Ouch!!!!

Were all four damaged like that? Maybe my insurance expiring on Friday was a blessing in disguise. Was it wet?

Well the car is still not running, and I might try to get it towed to Christian at DC on that day.

it was dry and the sun was shining, but in the morning the track still had some sneaky moist spots + shifting track conditions with hot and cold asfalt, makes is very difficult to sense grip.

But i think if i can remember correctly that it was an issue with the ABS wich gave the car some extra character when it spun & hit the wall.

No Balls > No Glory > No Story :-) atleast they had fun doing it!!!

T0mm, thanks for the pictures! Yes guys it was my ABS!! It went out and by the time I looked to figure it out on a turn I think I hit the brakes a bit to hard. Locked up and spun out. The track was weird that day. Three STi's crashed that day and a buddy of ours totaled his bike. I will upload more pictures soon. The good news is insurance is looking good for coverage of car and damage of the track.

I will be the official proof that insurance gets you through a rough patch on the Ring so you can do it all over again, Drew is another proof as well!

DONT LET THESE PICTURES FEAR YOU FROM THE RING! THIS WAS A FR3AK ACCIDENT OF ABS ISSUES AND SLIGHTLY CRAPPY CONDITIONS. THE TRACK IS AN AMAZING PLACE AND I WILL RETURN THERE SOMEDAY!!!

I JUST WANTED TO SHOW YOU GUYS THE STORY! I WILL ALSO PROVE THAT INSURANCE IS A SAVIOR IN THIS MOMENT BEING THAT IT IS A TOLL ROAD!

By wrxfr3ak227 at 2012-07-30

I came around the turn which is downhill lost the rear to the left end going out hitting causing me to slam into the side wall (right side of the picture is the rail part that I hit, minor rail damage, you can see the paint marks they did) then the impact turned me back to the right where I slowly backed into the side wall its currently sitting at. This is a very easy turn that I have hit at much higher speeds. The overall conditions of the track and my ABS issue were the problem. Unfortunately a previous turn caused my ABS light to activate, I guess I will never know why because its off now.

By wrxfr3ak227 at 2012-07-30

This is the worst part of damage. Slamming the rear left side pushed everything on the right in. I had to take my wheel off in order to free the frame from the tire.

By wrxfr3ak227 at 2012-07-30

This is proof that Subaru are outstanding vehicles. I was able to rig it to get me home. It was a 400 mile drive with a kinked exhaust (not bad, good sound) cruising at normal Autobahn speeds of 120 MPH. I am fortunate that the internals of my car survived the wreck, future GC8 build may be in the making! The also claim its fixable but I think we all agree nobody wants that!

I am jealous of that. If I wasn't in a hurry I would have waited for a ride in that GT3, pure heaven. Once again thanks bro for all your help. True Subaru family member!

It's a thought! The only issue is that I would like an American vinned GC in order to take it back to the states. Not sure how it works, maybe I could take it back to the states with the german information. I am going to check it out in the following days after everything comes together.

Come on guys I just want to know who is still interested in the Hockenheim trip. I know a few of you are not going to make it due to various reasons. Please let me know! I don't want to be solo there.

I would love to go, but never got my engine rebuilt since the air force was trying to get rid of me the first week of August. Then they gave me till the end of the month, and now they are letting me stay till my deros month of December now.

I heard the hockenheim meet on the 4th is for the drag strip only.

Can anyone confirm this?

I like a nice flat six in a GC. Seen quite a few of those in CO. should be interesting to see another, 3.0L?

Their web page says its open for the public but it doesn't specify about the drag strip. It looks like the track will be open for Sat and Sun.
