Welcome to Germany Dave. You should try to meet with us on our upcoming meet on the 30th. In my opinion the best way to learn the track is tailing a buddy and memorizing turns on GT5. That's what I did and now I help others by following me. Let me know what you think about the 30th and we can meet on the autobahn on the way to the ring. Are you American?

Thanks, I've been practicing on GT5 for years, LOL.

I am American, I'm working for Allianz on an ex-pat contract. It appears that I'm the only American civilian in this group?

Unfortunately I can't make it on the 30th, my wife and I will be in Prague.

I'm hoping somebody will be out there on the 13th or 14th of July.

Anybody?

Dave

Unfortunately, the Polezai has shut down that meet. They said anyone caught there will be given a ticket, and it's not to Europa Park. lol, I have told all suby owners that I've encountered, about this thread, and about DC Autoservice, have yet to see them chime in. IMO, they didn't know about the subaru code, how important EM was, and have not registered on any suby forum, so people are really hot about getting these cars and that's it.

Didn't know it was shut down. I still see a whole bunch of new tire streaks every Monday when I go to work. Don't blame them for shutting it down though, things got out of hand quite a few times I hear.

Well since that's out of the picture, how about a meet then take some roads through the Black Forest or something

I'd love to, but I ship the car next week and will be cleaning it/prepping it for drop off.

Hey everyone.

I'm assuming a helmet is required for the ring. If not, its a good idea. At any rate, I don't have one, and don't want to spend the money on one at this time. If I show on the 30th, does anyone have one I could borrow, size XXL, or know a place I can rent one? I'd like to participate since I'm PCSing out soon, and haven't taken a lap yet.

How about the 20-21 July?? I have finals on the 28th. @bragger let me know what you think. I don't know how to check if we can run the ring or if is always open or what not. If the date is good I will talk to AE and see how many pussies would not come.

Tourist Fahrten dates at the Nordschleife can be seen here:
http://www.nuerburgring.de/angebote/...dschleife.html

and the GP circuit (recommended as it is much safe with plenty of room to play - unlike the Ring) here:

Best day in july looks like the 15th

The main thing to look for is how long its open during the day. July really sucks for full day laps.

Its crap when its only open a few hours in the evening cause you will spend most that time waiting for wrecks to get cleared. I usually see like a wreck that causes temp closure probably every hour and wait 15-45 mins on avg I have waited up to 2 hours for one wreck to get cleared and road cleaned. Thats the main reason to only go on full open days. Cause for you and me. Not cool to drive 3+ hours and get one lap in and then standby for road cleaning and then they close

But jf u can swing it. We thinking if leaving for ramstien meet friday night. Then at hotel. Maybe in koblenz(15 mins to ring with esso on the way) then track all saturday then home that night

No need for a helmet since it's considered a "toll road" but if you feel that you need one then find one.

Unfortunately these dates have very short hours like Brad stated! If anything the day after your finals are a full day, thats the 29th. Let me know what you can do for that day and we should try to get everyone in on it. We can do a cruise there the night of the 28th when you are ready. If not we try for the 15th but I think thats close to the previous trip for guys to go. Lets try to see what happens. What does everyone think?

I'm still on my break-in map, but I will be shipping the car back shortly and will regret it if I don't make it out on the track. Let me know when/where everyone is meeting and I'm in!
