Searched and couldn't find one up here. Anyone on here getting their cast on with any regularity? Photo's, success, patterns, styles, stories, whatevver would be awesome. I can get started with a medium SRC from MA9 yesterday.

I haven't gone fly fished since my daughter was born, almost 9 years ago. I miss it.

I don't get a lot of fishing in during the winter, but I've been fly fishing for years! One of my trips I make every year to Lowell, ID to fish the Selway and Lochsa rivers. That was the last time I've been fishing this year, and it was pretty smoky from the wildfires in Idaho. When I move back to Kitsap I really need to get into the sea run cutthroat action.

I'll be paying attention to this thread.

I really want to get out and go. I got all my gear for Christmas last year but have not used it all. All my fishing experience has been freshwater lakes and ponds. Not overly familiar with the area has not helped get me out there either. Any suggestions on where a neophyte should go? Catching fish would be nice, I just want a good area to practice (and be legal)

I don't fly fish, I do spend a LOT of time fishing. I am pretty particular towards bass. But last yr hiking I saw a few trout that were beautiful., made me want to try to catch them for a pic. Awesome thread

Ahhh, who were you out w/ and where did you go?

I have always wanted to fish w/ a pro, I have to deal w/ a POS car topper that leaks!

It is addicting, I have spent so much time on it the last few yrs. I def have put in my time. The bass here are so finicky being warm-water species.
All of the inconsistent weather can really screw up the bite, I think it makes us in the PNW much better bass fisherman, dealing w/ all of the weather here.

Not to throw it away from "fly fishing" but here are a few I have caught in Western Wa from 2012

Fly fishing for bass is one of my favorites. Here's a couple from the last 2 years. One from eastern WA and the other from up here in Bellingham.

My biggest on the fly :

Incidental catch on the 1wt while bluegill fishing

For some reason this picture makes this one look really small, but it was pretty decent sized, a lot of fun on a fly rod.

Got out today. Couple really bright small cuts. Lots of casts for only a few fish.

Auburn,

I should rephrase slightly, It has been probably 15-20 years since I last fly fished. I wish I would have paid more attention to my Grandfather instead of skipping stones on the stream banks

Is it a cigarette hull? 300 vmax? Jack plate? Also, what prop is it running? A link to any and all details please... That is one motorsport that equals or is greater than my subaru addiction.

Back on topic... I live on Horse creek, a tributary of the Mckenzie river and will extend an invite to a well kept secret... PM for details...

Doing it RIGHT

I had a tackle box fly up in the boat at 74, and was lucky enough to catch it before it went by and donated to the lake.

And yes, I haven't been on walakes too much lately, I haven't fished since Oct
