Anyone tinted their windows, if so how?
It has been 10 years since I tinted car windows and I was thinking about doing that this weekend. Is it practical to pull the side windows out of the doors so they can be perfectly covered edge to edge on a bench? Of course the back sides have to be donw in car. Any tips tricks or ideas from those who have tinted their Imprezas?

intrugued by the masterful job that was done by the professional who did my car...
i watched intently as he did my pals RS.... he precut the material for the front windows... but over size just a bit... fit them... using a soapy spray which he soaked the window in... snugged the tint into the door trim w/the hard plastic applicator then pressed up and trimmed delicately around the window edges... after that... smoothed out air bubbles... mind you... he's been doing this for 18 years... so the guy can do it in his sleep... i'd rather pay someone to do it right and warranty their work... but..  either way... best wishes! No ****. Well maybe if I felt like paying some highschool dropout $120. to do something I am capable of myself I would do that.
I would welcome any usefull input to my question. |

I'm planning on removing the door panel, that way the tint will go down below the rubber seal easily. It's not a big thing to pull the inner panel off...

That is what I am thinking, and that forward rubber boot/ seal could be a hassle. I would prefer to apply the film totally edge to edge. For the back seat side windows I plan on using some patterns cut from tissue or something.

Piper cub , I graduated high school . Have owned my own window tinting business for 10 years . Oh yea I get $195.00 to tint sedans. If you have nothing nice to say don’t say anything at all.

Oh real cute, give a morinic answer to a reasonable question, then when you get called on it, you make up a fake user name.
Some of us around here take the time to lend a hand to others. I have sent 2 page emails in response to PMs about my turbo install from people asking for advice. I have sent long PMs back to those asking how I like my suspension and how I installed it. I have also recieved allot of good help and advice. There are few things more useless than a response telling someone to take it to a tint shop. You had the poor taste to give a flipant answer to my question, an answer that you knew was useless, then lecture me on not saying anything if you can't say anything nice? What is so damn difficult about that question? |
