Default Saleen will tune the Tesla Model S

These are uncharted waters, but Saleen boldly chose to tune a production electric car, perhaps cementing the Tesla’s fitment into car culture. The existing car comes with 416 horsepower, so it will be interesting to see what Steve Saleen has in store for the upcoming model whose details remain scant.

For a company whose bread and butter largely remains cars like the Dodge Challenger, Ford Mustang, and Chevrolet Camaro, this nearly slightly greenie, crunchy granola car is something of a departure, though it is likely that the finished product will be anything but a sensitive spotted owl, fair trade, gluten free and organic item. There is no release date planned for the car, and as you can see from the press release after the jump, there are no details out yet.

Saleen Automotive Announces Plans to Produce Saleen Tesla Model S Electric Sports Car
CORONA, Calif., Jan. 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Saleen Automotive, Inc. (OTCQB: SLNN), (OTCBB: SLNN) (the “Company”), an American specialty manufacturer of high performance vehicles, technical performance parts, lifestyle accessories and apparel, is pleased to announce that the Company will produce for the first time, a Saleen Tesla Model S sports car. The Saleen Tesla design will be Saleen’s first effort in enhancing an existing electric vehicle.
No release date has been set for completion of the Saleen Tesla Model S, but renderings will be released as Research and Design continue. Our engineers will also prepare a spec sheet which will detail some of the enhancements and innovations we intend to add to the Saleen Tesla Model S.
“Saleen Automotive is intent on continually expanding its presence in the automotive market,” stated Steve Saleen, CEO, Saleen Automotive, Inc. “We have already announced or produced incredible vehicles including Camaros, Challengers, and of course Mustangs, adding style and performance to each of those legendary lines. Now, we turn our attention to the vehicle that has defined the sports car in the rapidly growing electric car sector.”
“Tesla’s values are not a departure from our core values of elite power, style, and performance. I have admired their craftsmanship,” added Saleen. “And now with our upcoming entry into the electric car market with a revolutionary design all our own, we share a desire to also produce vehicles that are not dependent on fossil fuels and which accomplish this fuel independence with a tremendous assemblage of grace and technology.”
“I fully intend to produce one of the most compelling Tesla’s to ever hit the roadway,” added Saleen.

I'm excited for electric car modding. Can't wait to see how much torque can be made.
