Looks like i'll be doing a retro again this time around.

Any info if the 06-14 STI projectors are a direct swap? The mounting holes look pretty similar from what i remember.

Looks amazing.
I'll have to do this when I get my rex in a couple months.
What bulb did you order to replace the Orange fog light bulb?

A chrome covered amber bulb, WY21W bulb 21W will work.

Nope , they won't fit. They are new 3" projector ( 06-14 were 2.5") and have different monting holes.

They used the morimoto d2s mini 3.0 (new version of the older quick retro kit) in this one. So looks to be pretty simple. I had the 2.0 in my 12 wrx and switched to oem projectors because the 2.0 had no foreground limiter, thus lost concentrated light output. I wonder how the 3.0 are. I tried searching but no big comparison information between the two.

Just for clarification purposes , the new 3.0 have nothing to do with the former retroquick setup. Not even close. This is true retrofit ( not a retroquick ).
There is quite a bit of cutting , grinding and drilling for all of it to fit together properly.

IMO the 3.0 is better than the mini H1 and darn close to the FX-R 3.0 in terms of performance.

A semi-detailed writeup or even a retrospective on the modifications needed would be great!

Just skimmed through your facebook link and WOW! That's pretty awesome stuff. I noticed you pulled the c-light tube out... How about retrofitting some kind of led strip into it? I know there's a large thread going on about it but headlights seem to be your company's specialty.
