Did you buy used? If so it seems as though it may have sustained water damage or something...

I agree. It sounds like your remote may be damaged. Either that or you have the wrong code, but this is unlikely.

The only issue with the case is that you have to pull the subaru emblem to remove one of the screws.

Other than that, everything looks good.

In Xluben's defense, I bought two different ones (none of which are the same style that Xluben sells) and both require that the sticker be pulled out. It's not just his that is like that.

Have you tried contacting the dealership about it? Some parts managers are cool with it and will give you a discount.

Thats not the right key. I bought one form them and im in the process of returning it. I think this is a 2012 Impreza key. It might have the same FCC ID but it does not have the 8 digit code you need inside the key.

Well I live in the San Fernando Valley and the first locksmith closest to me I call said that they do laser cut some keys. So as soon as my key arrives I'll be going to see how much it would cost.

Ask a dealer where they get it done. No dealership cuts in house. I was able to find the place the dealership gets theirs done, they even did it for the price they charge the dealership, $15.

Believe me I did. But their answer was that they can only get them from the factory, but I guess I can call around to some other dealers around me.
