I have not seen of any hardware type places that will do a laser cut key. Only dealers and locksmiths. Normal prices will be around $30.

I'm sorry, but I have to do it. A 2011 STi with 10k miles for $99,995!
I got my 2012 WRX with 15k miles for $26,999 with 2.9% over 72 months at World Subaru in Tinton Falls, NJ

What does that have to do with this thread? Because someone commented on that dealership 6 months ago? Odd.

My 2008 Legacy GT key is square and the remote buttons won't integrate into this housing. I ended up buying a 2009 Legacy/Outback remote key and transferred it over to the flip key housing. I programmed the remote using the instructions in this thread. I got my non-laser flip key cut by a locksmith for $20, and it probably could have been cheaper had I priced/shopped. The last thing was, I took out the tiny immobilizer chip from the original square key and put it into the flip housing.

It's all working great and for less than $90.
What exactly was the problem getting the 08 remote guts to fit into the flip housing? They seems just about the same from what I can tell.

I have a DIY flip key right now that is using the 08 key guts. I was hoping to reuse it for this case. Guess that might not be an option afterall.

The 09 remote unit is a different shape, and slightly smaller than the one in the 08 key. The flip key used here is specifically made to fit the 09 remote unit inside.

Thanks Ben. Received my flip shell and remote. Can't wait to get the key cut.

Anyone else on the fence about doing this should just take the plunge. Great product and excellent communication from xluben. Couldn't be happier.

Now just waiting on my shift knob from besthaticouldo.

Page 1 has the information you're looking for.
But yes, 2013 STI will work if paired with the 2011 Legacy remote.
