Thank you! Soon they'll be complimented by a white intake manifold and white FMIC piping.
I have a lot more pictures of the car and various projects in a photo album HERE

I decided to just install the FMIC with the rest of "phase 1," instead of waiting to do it with a new turbo, mostly because the 2.5i intake manifold is too big to fit with a TMIC. Ordered the last few parts I need (BOV, fuel pressure gauge, silicone couplers, t-bolt clamps). Once they arrive, this thread will get a lot more interesting!

random update: detailed the paint today - clay bar, buff, polish, wax. extremely happy with the results! other than some rock chips on the front end, the paint is like brand new again! OBP is really a cool color. the blue/green metallic flakes are super visible now.

here's an attempt at a "macro" picture of the metallic flakes

Discovered late last night that I need way bigger phenolic spacers to make this intake manifold fit. I also need different angles than I'd planned for some of my fuel fittings. Ordered those parts and will keep doing whatever I can until they arrive. Sucks being set back a few more days, but I'm excited for what's to come.

I'm tryin I'm tryin! It's my only vehicle other than my band's bus and some folding bicycles, so trust me, I want it done ASAP! Since I have to pause on the manifold until the new phenolic spacers arrive (Mon or Tues), I'm working on the FMIC and anything that will keep the project moving forward.

Today's progress: Mounted the FMIC core, cut up my bumper to accommodate it, and started mocking up the piping. Most of the piping is still wrapped in paper, to avoid getting all scraped up.

I promise, the car is on jackstands... You just can't see them in this pic, haha. The bricks are only there to support the wheels, because I removed the strut brace after the car was already jacked up.

Good work man! I remember you saying it was your only ride the last time we talked. I think someone is coming to buy my Miata Tuesday of Wednesday. If they do, I'll have a new motor for my truck and a couple grand to throw at my subie Hopefully I will have a few parts to show off at the next Cars and Coffee.
P.S. this is Cooper, in case you didn't know.

I hope so. It's not all clamped down yet, but I think it will fit just fine.

Progress over the past 2 days or so: Mounted and plumbed the new power steering and coolant reservoirs. Started installing the air/oil separator. The last of my new fuel fittings arrived, so I cut some more fuel lines and test fit them in the engine bay. Spliced some vacuum lines for the hybrid boost controller setup and mounted the controllers. Took me a while to choose where to mount the FPR, but I finally decided to just mount it directly on the intake manifold, so I fab'd a small mounting bracket and test fit it. Hoping the hood will close with it mounted here. It'll be a close call.

Stillll waiting on my 19mm phenolic spacers to arrive (you're killin me, KSTech). Until those arrive, I'm stuck doing small tasks. Helped a friend install a FMIC on his Mazdaspeed3, deleted my PCV, cleaned up some of the AOS hoses, cleaned more of the engine bay, started mocking up the wiring harness, installed new radiator hoses, and eliminated all of the yellow caps from the engine bay...
