Default Paint and Body work... later a tune...

So this week I am dropping the car off with Echelon Autosports. Echelon is going to install...

Karlton Fender Flares
Rota Grid 18X10 +30 (with a 15mm spacer)
Arp Studs
Fortune Auto Dreadnaught Coilovers
TIC Fender Cowl Braces
MSI 2" drop correction trailing arm
Whiteline sways with Kartboy endlinks
MSI antilift kit
Every TIC bushing you can think of

while it is with Echelon it is getting painted. Have not decided on a color yet. Sticking with some sort of silver or grey. Leaning towards Lotus grey.

After this is done i talked to Goodspeed about tuning for MAP pressure so i can run my tial bov properly thanks to samco hoses with a perrin turbo inlet making it near impossible to install a recirc valve. Also going to tune for E85. I know other people are running E85 and the gains are impressive. Really looking forward to this build but hate to lose my car for 6 weeks (high estimate from Echelon for turn around.)

Some before shots

The color choice is going to be a Mercedes-Benz titanium grey pearl. Once all the parts are here together we will update this pictures as progress moves along.

Echelon Autosports has been great with the customer service. The suggestions on how to paint my sti were exactly what i was looking for. I could not ask for better service.

@aikencolon pics will come as soon as we have them. When this is done I will be using my new Canon 5D Mark III to take some great shots.

@Evil Imports Echelon is so much more than just window tinting. Trust me I have worked with a ton of shops on the East Coast. Probably the only advertisements you have seen have been for window tinting.

@Echelon thanks for the call about the stock wheels.

I was asking them because all the pics they have posted on AZAWD to me looks like they are just painting in a garage and not in a spray booth, i would not have a whole car painted in a garage as there will be dust and stuff in the paint/clear that you will not be able to get out.

And after seeing that review on AZAWD about the brand new M3 that they painted the door a different color (and telling the person the car was done) i wouldn't let them paint a toy car.

Yes when we first opened there was no booth to paint in but we werent doing much paint work then, now we do have a booth and do all paint inside in a controlled enviornment as it should be. Your welcome to have your own opinion just as anyone is but I urge you to maybe stop by sometime before just assuming, the door is always open and were friendly. That whole situation was a bad one both ways and being a new business and never dealing with insurance or a situation quite like that before things didnt go the way they should have and we dropped the ball, not trying to deny it, there was alot more to that situation that wasnt put on there but Im not one to argue and Im not going to ecspecially on the internet. Since then we have changed the way we do things and havent had any problems. We do way more work outside of the AWD community. Im sorry you took from one persons bad experience but with that there have been numerous great experiences with customers and Id be happy to point them in your direction. Show me one business that has a 100% perfect track record...mistakes happen but we learned from our mistakes. Maybe after you see this project completed you may change your mind...and if not, we cant please everyone.

I read the m3 post after I contacted Echelon but before I dropped off the car. I have dealt with many shops who have had great records but they always have one or two people they did not please. I truly think that is part of owning a business. I have also worked with very shady companies.

I was pleased to read the Echelon did the right thing and paid for the customers work to get done by another body shop. There are plenty of shady businesses that would not even go that far. Knowing that Echelon worked hard to fix the mistake they made and owned the mistake says a lot. Knowing this I am confident my car will get done to my standards. Either way I will post on here and let you guys know. Thanks for the intrest in the project. My bad for posting before it is completed.
