Unhappy It's feeling like maybe new clutch time.

I feel the time draws nigh. I seem to be getting what feels like slip during WOT accel in 4 and 5 gear. No other indicators, though.

I'd like to go performance clutch and flywheel (looking at clutchmasters from Challengerdeep) as well while I'm in there digging, but I'm going to have to justify nearly 1k of parts to the wife. Again. For reference, does anyone know what it would be for stock replacement parts (ie new stock clutch parts and getting the flywheel resurfaced?) I looked around subaruparts.com but nothing came up for a search on "clutch". I don't know what the part #'s are.

Also for those of you who've changed the clutch and flywheel, how difficult is it? Iv'e done my share of tinkering with the car and other cars but I want to get a feel for what I'm in for. Is there anything particularly tricky or unusually difficult. I put Tein coilovers on the RS and swapped an '82 jetta from automatic to manual trannies with nothing but a Haynes manual).

One more thing, any one, who's done this before (pipercub , willing to drive up to Felton to help?

I have a clutchmasters stage III on order from challenger deep it should be getting here soon I hope. The only experience I have is with chevy V8,V6 MT so I have no Idea what issues you will run into with a Subaru. As far as Lightened flywheels go I here you should stay away from anything that is not cromemoly steel. as the saying goes Just my 2 cents.

75K and you already need a clutch......you must stop doing all that spirited driving on all those back roads between Felton & Towson....

While you have it apart I would go ahead and just replace the Flywheel with a lightened one, as well as replace the pressure plate and the throw-out bearing. I would also replace the clutch fluid just to be safe.

Let me know if you need a hand, I would be more than willing to help break open atranny on a suby that way when I replace mine I will already have some idea of how it's done. Plus have all those expensive service manuals, with those expert torque specs....... Maybe give Eric a call @ Airborne and see what kind of deal he can give you on a clutch flywheel combo.

Hey Bob I can get the clutch masters 3 .My son just put one in his honda with the light weight flywheel it is sweet.
