Default Import Wars - Milwaukee / Chicago area

Just want to let you know that Subaru was represented very poorly at Import wars in Union Grove WI on Aug 24. The track is about 45 minutes north of Chicago!! Lets see some more quick cars there. They run a quick 16 program, Heads up racing on index, and trophy racing. Oh yeah, they have a pretty cool car show too. Anyways.... I raced in the heads up 14.00-14.99 index with my 02 WRX wagon. I was runner up running 14.03-14.22 all night. I got beat by a 325i!! I had a best run of 13.928 at 96.04 Mph (the fastest subaru there), not bad for an intake and cat back exhaust! Car's 60ft times were off a little but I think that was because they were putting down VHT. I need a little slippage. Best 60 ft was 1.867 so far. There were a couple other bone stock wrx's running but most were in the 15's. Guys you can't drop the clutch, let her slide, and try some 100 octane unleaded, it's for sale at the track!!!! The track has cash prizes and trophys for each class. Quick 16 winner took home 500 bucks, second took 200 third took 100. In each of the index classes the winner got 200, runner up took 100. (which is what I got). The fastest car in the quick 16 ran 11.10 in a Mitsu. Eclipse. Now I know there is a certain yellow wrx wagon out of Drivers Image in Skokie that could have laid the smack down!!! To make this long story short, the event was a lot of fun. Lets see if we can have a better Subaru showing in September!!! Check out the tracks website for dates. greatlakesdragaway.com

I'm in for the next event. I went 2 weeks ago and did a best of 12.598@107 on my last run at 1.2 bar. I'm hoping for better times with 1.35-1.4bar on race gas. I ran *****ty times ALL night long (12.9's-13.0's for 4 runs) then I reset my ecu (which gave the best run)...I guess timing was being pulled and/or the ecu had a conservative setting before?? I dunno. Same thing happened a few months ago in Ga. I ran 13.7's for 5 runs and then after reseting my ecu, I ran a 13.40X@101 on my last run.

Would have loved to bring out my car but unfortunately Saturday's are sooooo busy at our shop that I can only really race on Sunday unless the event is large enough.

I also built another wagon for a customer that is actually must faster than my "yellow" wagon. He also is very busy on Saturdays so it's hard for him to bring out the car.

Both cars will be at the Sep 14/15th battle of the imports in Joliet.
Hopefully, the white wagon will be well in the 11's by that time. My wagon is undergoing "major" re-construction to become an all out drag car to compete with the quickest Subaru's in the world.
The car is currently being gutted, caged, and the trans and motor are being fully outfitted for next years drag race season.

In stock trim with only bolt ons my Wagon was the first 02 body in the 11's in the world!!

Unfortunately, when you reach the hosrepower levels our cars are seeing trannies and clutches don't like to stay in one piece.
