Default First Wash, Clay, and Zaino for my 2012 MBP Impreza

I got my Impreza on monday and already started to wash, clay and apply Zaino. Here is a little teaser shot. One coat of Z5 done. Look at the deep shine on the hood. One or two more coats to go.

Looks GREAT! I just turned over 500 miles on our new Impreza...I am trying to find something to clean the dash with. Every cloth I try gets grabbed by the rubbery material of the dash. What are you using on the interior?

Thanks! I really like how the zaino worked with the blue. As I look at the pics, I wonder if I should get fogs and a spoiler.

Thanks. I just put 500 miles on my first week. I'm very happy with the first MPG average of 34.5 mostly highway. I haven't tried to clean the inside of it yet. Interesting about what you mentioned about the dash. I'll have to look at that. I usually just use a damp cloth or a Swiffer Duster.

Cleaning dash solved - a slightly damp synthetic chamois worked great. No lint to leave behind and it just glided across the rubbery parts.

Good to know, thanks for sharing!

This is my first blue car. I've used Zaino mainly on black. My 2006 V6 RAV4 has well over 100,000 miles in this pic and now has over 158,000 miles and still looks great. I expect the same with my new Subie.

I;m never heard of Zaino. Is it a brand of wax? How many coats do you put on? Does it last longer than other waxes? Thanks for any info.

It's a brand that sells several products including sealants like their long running Z2 and Z5. They have added other products to their lineup like an AIO ; all in one (Z-AIO) and a WOWA ; wipe on, walk away product (Clear Seal).

The # of "coats" depends on what you're trying to accomplish. Personally, I nave never seen a need for more than 3 myself when using Z5 & Z2.

As far as endurance, I would say Z2/Z5 are arguably better than average but it would really depend what you are comparing them to.

....its a well established company with quite a large following actually (been around quite a few years). However, it is more of a "boutique" brand that is scarcely available anywhere except for their own website.

Thanks folks. Kean is correct. I've been using Zaino for years. Love the durability of it. It's the best I've used. I use it twice a year. Once in the spring and once in the fall. Got to protect that paint during these NE winters.

The chromed grill dominates the nose. If you go for the fogs & spoiler, add the mesh grill. The only chrome on the nose will be the trim around the fogs, and you'll have a much cleaner, sportier, more aggressive look.

Yeah, at first I liked the mesh grille in the pictures, but when I saw it in person at the dealership, I wasn't as impressed. I'll have to take another look at it again, maybe I'll change my mind.

I have it, but my car is dark gray metallic. The overall effect is a clean, blacked-out nose. I didn't think of it earlier, but on Marine Blue you'd have a stark contrast. It might just look too busy.

The Impreza I saw was silver I think. Maybe it was the way the sun was hitting it but the mesh grille looked 'empty' to me at the time. I do want to do a rear spoiler of some type and something with the fogs. I had plans for new rims, but I like the stocks too much right now.
