just wanted to see if anyone had any dislikes or likes about this swap! The shop that has this gear set is EDO PERFORMANCE in Hunington Beach, CA and said it's a really strong upgrade to my transmission. Please chime in and let me know what's the deal. Thanks

This thread over at evom might give an idea of Tomioka's quality!
http://forums.evolutionm.net/vendor-...rpm-60mph.html

Says in post number 14 that the parts are forged in Australia.Sounds nice if you ask me.

You buy gears based on car's use, budget, and reputation. NOT people's opinions. We don't know items 1 and 2, but I can tell you their reputation: ZERO people have ever used them on here. If you want to be a crash test dummy, knock yourself out, but that's not a smart idea. And $10 says those are actually NOT Tomioka gears, but rebadged from another manufacturer that recently went out of the Subaru market....mainly due to many failures amongst other issues.

This guy is Negative sally. Opinions are what make the world what it is. You're giving me your opinion with that comment, you think they are garbage. Thanks for your opinion little Ron.

I am a smart ass, but....I'm wicked smart when it comes to transmissions. Smart as in I know those are actually MFactory gears smart. Oh snap! Now go buy an airbrushed T-shirt that says "I got served by Unabomber".

yeeeaaaaahhhhhh. Ron can do this all day. You're better off cutting your losses and just letting it be. Plus, he is wicked smart when it comes to the 5 speed. You can't get down on a guy because he tells people to save their money and buy the right thing the first time. He's been around here for a long time and he's seen all the newb crap and all the crap the newbs buy based purely on price. Oh, and even though his "official faq's" are kinda setup cut and paste, there is a TON of invaluable information about a great many things. When in doubt, search, alot. After a while, you'll find out who the right people are to ask about any of your suby related questions. Guys like micah (3mi), anybody from MPS, Phatron, unabomber... the list goes on.

p.s. I got schooled like a mofo by ron in my very first post, threw a little hissy fit, got over it. Ron's a great wealth of information, heed his warnings sometimes with a bit of salt... get it, LIKE SEA SALT, CUZ HE'S A SAILOR!!!!! Ok, that was alittle bit of a stretch. I'm an idiot.

He might be smart about transmissions and all , but that doesn't give him the right to be a smart ass to me. Karma is a bitch.

Best of luck to you. My delivery may suck, but believe it or not most of the time it is my attempt at humor more than anything else.
