If you dont like the potential for MASSIVE oil consumption, the BRZ isn't a great choice. Its allowed to burn 1.1 quarts in 600 miles.

They never even read the owners manual, and had no idea what oil it took- till the light came on. They obviously dont do their own changes, and will probably be done with the car before any warranty is up.

Very interesting. Apparently this lemon law specialist is seeing A LOT of unhappy subaru owners with oil burnig issues. Anyone with an oil burner may find this helpful.

Each state has their own lemon laws. In Maryland, they are specific about the faults with subsequent repair attempts etc. that had to be made. The links on the side of that website you posted are not specific at all. It makes it seem like the laws are loose, which could be a result of that attorney trying to find business. Google it yourself, don't take their word for it.

Opinionated observation.

DGM
Car consumed .5 qt or less from 2500 to 3600
And then stopped. Got the oil light when on an incline pulled over on flat surface and confirmed the .5(more like .3/.4) which I was already aware of. Topped it off and all good. Now when I picked up the car the dipstick read below full as the dealership never topped it off (I had less than 5qt in car
at pickup time, oil level was 1mm or more below top dot). So .5 is not the actual used amount of oil since she wasn't full. The oil level on flat was above lower dot but what the hell. Now obviously breaking in car engien means some oil is gonna get drank so no need to worry however for those just picking up cars I would say to check that your oil was full before leaving dealership.
Consumption for me on this car will be about 1qt over 7k miles. After I changed the oil, I have 2k on the clock and the same oil level no consumption thus far.

More of an observation both cars are severe service the red gets more of the stop and go traffic and she isn't as high rpm as myself driving style wise. I test filled m1 and it has to be the thinnest oil I have seen. Subaru idemitsu and Kendall are def thicker and m1 is super thin and I have to be real fast to read the dipstick. So far we have about .4 or less oil used I only put in 5 qts since oci is every 4k. I won't be using the m1 again as this was just to see if it could hold up to NYC traffic. I would say its decent but you can get cheaper oil for the price.

They clearly stated that they had to add oil, and that finding oil was not as easy as usual being that it called for 0w20.

Oh, I didn't read the article/watch the video or whatever....it was just a thought. I've done 2 oil changes since I bought mine and I have yet to add a drop in between.

Which is why us oil burner know our engines arent as "good" as yours.
The article makes it clear they dont check their dipstick or owners manual. Unless they are FORCED to.
From what I've garnered, if you get one oil light, you'll get more unless you do regular top-offs.
