My experience with sealing cedar is that it's a giant waste of time unless you are trying to avoid the grey/patina.

Sorry! I had to get the fence done first. Ordering crushed stone and sand for the bricks next week.

Neighbor to the right or left? Neither is bigger. The one on the left is 5ft shorter and the one on the right is the same size. And yes, there is an easement on the left side. The gate on the fence is in the top left - I built it so it blends into the fence. You can't tell its a gate at all.

Why is the right side different than the left and the back? It looks lower and like the top isn't the same.

It looks like the photo was taken with a fisheye lens.

The right side doesn't have a flat board on top and if you look at where it meets the back there is about a one foot drop in height.

Damn! Good job (and I know it was lots of work). Except I used to work in a cubical, and I don't think I could "recreate"in that as a back yard.

all you need to do is put another fence on top of that fence, and you'll have a raquetball court!

Two reasons

I tied into my neighbor's fence posts, which are 1 ft. shorter and I also haven't finished the top rail on that side.

Thanks. I used to work in a cubicle too, and hated it. Thankfully the back yard doesn't feel like that.

Good!

My wife and I had a long list of "must haves"and must not haves"when we bought our house. I wanted (actually demanded) a small yard.

She wanted(actually demanded) a secluded yard.

Try finding that.

We did. It is awesome. About 30 minutes to mow and fairly secluded. (one more tree......)
