Default Cannot figure out this misfire

Well, Ive tried everything I can think of, lets see if anyone has any ideas. I have a 04 sti. Since I have owned it I have had a cel. I scanned it with my work scanner, and it came up with a misfire cylinder 1. Since I bought it used, I did the timing belt, water pump, thermostat, and plugs and coils, thinking that would have fixed my problem. The cam sprocket was missing a tooth which I thought that would be my misfire problem, but that did not work. I then had my friend use the snap on scanner to try and narrow it down. It says 1,2,4 misfire, but, he cannot complete the test to narrow it down because the computer keeps kicking out the scanner. So now im completely lost on what it could be. Computer? Anyone have any idea? If I can figure it out I am going to bring it to efi.
