Default Outback/Legacy alternators

hi it seems that my alternator is going bad and i want to know if my alternator is the same model as 2000 legacy my car is a 2000 outback limited sedan. also is it cheaper to buy a remanufactured one or from subaru?

yes. they're interchangeable as long as theyre from the same motor (H4 to H4, H6 to H6)

It's definitely cheaper to buy a remanufactured unit. I'd recommend going with a NAPA one. My Autozone one crapped out once already (but it has a lifetime warranty, so I got a free replacement).

ok cool so i can ordrer a legacy h6 one assuming its cheaper? and it will fit my outback?

Is your Outback an H6? You didn't provide that information. If so, then yes, there's no difference between the Legacy & Outback in that regard, provided the motor is the same.
