Ooh ooh!

I think I might be interested in going to this! I've got no plans this saturday, and the wife is out of town to boot!

Maybe I'll finally get to meet more of you i-clubbers. I think in all, since being in Denver for 1 1/2 years, I've met maybe 2 or 3 of you...

Hey Abe,

Thanks for coming in and talking to me. It is always good to talk to a fellow i-club member. Your "Foreclosure Roll" at the resturant is like crack cuisine and I know once I live up here that I'll be signing my pay checks over to them.

Also, As a point of general interest we have a booth down at the Import Expo with a few cars in our booth and in the show. I think there is still a few show slots if anyone would like to register their car and you get two tickets however, load-in of the cars are on Friday between 9 and 4 (hint Ronin and JaMa). I have $2 discount flyers at the dealer and you can see the new Bajas as a bonus which we got just yesterday.

Heheheheh

Hope to see some fellow I-club members today at the show!

Maybe if you guys arent too busy at the booth, you can point us out to each other, being that us I-clubbers are going to be checking out the MRT (or is that MR.T..hehehehe), and Bret's Super Bad, Super Fly RS! Hope to see everyone there.

So who actually went to the show. What's the verdict on the show. Tell me how Brian and Nate did! If wish I could have gone today. It was my son's birthday, so the wife would have killed me if I skipped out on my son's party. Oh, he will be two on Labor day. Whoo hoo........proud dad.

Personally, I say you didnt miss much. LAME ass judging, the person who took first place in the Soob category had a stock turbo on his WRX (remember those?) and a door ding the size of a biscuit plate for god sake. I guess the judges put more emphasis on his LCD screens in the back of the headrests than the performance of the car...

Props to Brians and Brets 2nd and 3rd place, they shoulda been first and second.

I wanted to thank everyone for coming out and showing your support because being there is the only way we can make Denver / Colorado / Rocky Mountain Region a major show venue with events like this. All the Imprezas at the event were really nice and it was good to see the different ideas through out the Import scene. The Hondas and Mitsus were very much the majority, however the only way we can change this is too bring out more of Subaru community and I-club members to show that we are definitely representing the Subaru enthuasiast and that we have quite a presence. We learn from what transpired and change to improve to show better and to make a better show. The point to remember about a show is overall appearance and modifications not necessarily performance or power because if that were the case Takashi's 700+ hp R32 would have been best of show, not the Feel's bodied Civic. In closing, I wanted to add that I had a great time even considering that I had spent over 40 hours preparing for the show, 14 hours of that being there, missing the CU / CSU game and GP qualifying but I am just that crazy about Subaru and the sport.

If this were true about that show, there is no way that WRX auto should of won first. In no way was that vehicle visually impressive compared to Bret or Brians. The modifications on those two vehicles way outnumbered what was on that auto, not to mention the installs were cleaner.

I'm with Troy on this subject- we need more Subarus and other imports to show their vehicles in order to show major vendors/promoters that Denver is a viable market for shows and racing. As i talked to many of our club members i suggested all of us showing our cars. Not so much that everyone would win a prize, but that it supports everyone that supports our hobby and when you show your car you get 2 free tickets which covers admission for you and your girlfriend/wife/friend. Personally i'd like to see everyone of you with your car in the show!! Imagine that! Oh, and everybody contribute to the "Get KazeXtreme A Date Fund" just kidding!

Have a Nice Day? Learning Experience

I feel like the Import Expo was a Learning Experience. It really showed me how much this import community is about "bling bling" and a lot less about "zing zing," which is a shame. I see this every day on the street around where I live where some dork has taken a perfectly nice Type R Integra, IS300, BMW, or whatever, and covered it with stickers, tasteless chrome rims, big coffee can exhaust tips on the stock silencer, and so on and so forth. Too bad they dont judge the cars on how much power they have.

So, in response to all the talk about the Subaru tuner community, I say we put in a major appearance at the Rocky Mountain Nationals on the weekend on September 21-22 - thats a big event and there will be lots of the "big boys" there showing off their drag skills and the more Soobs we get there the better. I would really like to see Mr. "I will race anyone anywhere" automatic blue car with the black lights take his SH**-talking butt out there and drag his car - lets see where all that big talk is coming from.

Cheers,

JaMa
